White Rappers, Black Presidents: How the Fight for Media Accountability Can Enfranchise A Generation (Room C201)
Caught in the crossfire of race and age-based media bias, youth of color across the country are taking action to fight back against misrepresentation and instituting community based fairness standards in news and hip-hop. Join the Youth Media Council in a participatory workshop to build skills in media monitoring, rapid response, and grassroots media policy change. We’ll also develop strategies that increase media accountability and move the voices of youth of color from the margins of public discourse to the center.
